What causes a PS5 No Power fault?
The internal Power Supply Units or PSU has various components that can become faulty and too sensitive so they cut off during normal use. We have had PS5 consoles sent in after a power surge that has caused damage to the PSU too causing the PS5 to have power issues.
You may also see the PS5 power up and cut off just like the BLOD but with a difference - you cannot turn the console back on unless you unplug it and plug it back in. That is a sign the PSU has failed as opposed to the normal BLOD when you can turn it back on after 2 button presses.
How do we repair a PS5 Power Fault?
As with all repairs we first test the PS5 to confirm the fault. Once we establish that it is the PSU at fault we will dismantle the Playstation 5 and inspect the PSU for damage. If it can be fixed at a component level then we will else we will swap the PSU. We then test the console before reassembling it. The PS5 is then taken to our saturation test bench where all consoles are tested for a minimum of 4 hours prior to dispatch.
